New Sports Cards Release October 2020

 Here are of some of the sports card boxes heading to your favorite hobby shop or online store in the coming days.

2020 Topps Gold Label Baseball

Pushed back from its original pre-Labor Day release, Gold Label arrives in the heat of the MLB playoffs.

Each box will have seven packs of five cards and you should pull one autograph.  

Boxes are selling for $100-$125 on the lower end.

2020 Panini Spectra Football  

A higher end product, Spectra boxes will carry four packs, with four cards in each.  Cases will have eight boxes.  Each box promises one Rookie Patch Autograph (numbered to 199 or less); three additional autographs, six memorabilia cards, one insert and five numbered base cards.

Box prices are all over the board right now and First Off the Line boxes will be higher, but expect to pay around $700 for a hobby box.

2019-20 Panini Encased Basketball

Encased also had a September release date but was shoved back to a post-season timeframe.  

It offers five cards per box including one BGS-graded on-card autograph, one additional autograph and two memorabilia cards per box, on average.  Every autograph in the product is numbered to 99 or less.

Boxes are available now on eBay for around $700 with FOTL running significantly higher.

2020 Panini XR Football

Hobby boxes of XR will feature two packs, with seven cards to a pack. Panini is promising two autograph cards and a memorabilia card, with one of the autos guaranteed to be a rookie autograph relic.

Each hobby box will also include an insert, a pair of rookies from the 2020 NFL draft class, four base cards and four parallels.

Boxes are currently selling online for around $215.

2019-20 Panini Clearly Donruss Basketball

Putting previously released sets on a different type of card stock seems to be a growing fad.  This one will look much like the standard Donruss and Optic sets but they’ll be printed on acetate. 

Each box will have four packs of five cards.  Look for Rated Rookie signatures from Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and the rest of the 2019 draft class along with rare Holographic and Holographic Mosaic parallels.  Autographs aren’t guaranteed in these boxes, which are nevertheless selling for $430 and up.

2020 Panini Phoenix Football

Each box of 2020 Phoenix will have 12 packs with five cards per pack.  

A typical box break will hold two autographs, one memorabilia card, 12 parallels, 12 rookies and nine insert cards.  One of those autographs will be a rookie autographed memorabilia card.

Boxes are selling for around $240 per box on eBay.
